Susan Humphreys
- A Profile of the Author

What's your dream job? Astronaut? WAG? Palaeontologist?
Well if you're like most Brits (according to a 2007 YouGov poll) then you've probably fantasised about being a published author.
Susan Humphreys invites you to chat about the rollercoaster ups and downs of research, writing, editing, submissions, competitions, rejections and successes as she tries to find a home for her Dr Midas series of books.

Is your social diary looking a little bare? Why not jot down a few of these writing related events.
Put your purse or wallet away because a live literary evening taking place tonight at West Kirby, Wirral is free.

Nine members of Riverside Writers will be reading poetry and fiction from 7pm tonight (April 7) at the library in The Concourse.
which will take place next Monday, on April 7th at West Kirby Library in The Concourse.
There is a large car park behind The Concourse and for greener travellers the train station and bus stops are close by.
Adele Cosgrove-Bray will be reading ‘Seagull Inn’, Tim Hulme, will perform ‘The Missing Muffin’ and Joanna McIlhatton will read a monologue ‘Look Out’.

Today is also the start of Wirral’s first bookfest including the launch of the National Year of Reading.
More than 20 events are planned in libraries across the borough from April 7 until Saturday, April 12.
Fans of books for children may like to attend the launch of the National Year of Reading with Frank Cottrell Boyce who wrote two of my favourites ‘Millions’ and ‘Framed’ and on Saturday there is a Fun Family Day with Redwall series writer Brian Jacques. I really must get round to reading one of his books because I know they are incredibly popular - any fans out there?
Let me know if you attend any of these events and what tips you pick up- the graphic novel one in particular sounds really fun.
