Charlie Higson has talked to the BBC about the possibility of more Young Bond books

I am a fan of Charlie Higson's Young Bond books so I was pleased to here he is considering writing more - but aimed at an older audience.

Charlie Higson has tried to ensure his Bond tied in with the few details Ian Fleming mentioned of his early years - mainly taken from an obituary in 'You Only Live Twice.'
In an interview with the BBC, Charlie Higson said: "One thing I've been talking about possibly doing is a second sequence of books for a slightly older readership, maybe taking him up to and into World War II.
"He's approaching the age of 15 in this latest book and I couldn't continue writing this type of book for this age group with Bond at the age he is."
"The question of sex is the hardest thing - one of the facts we get from one of Bond short stories is that he lost his virginity aged 16 in a brothel in Paris. I don't think I can quite get away with that for a 10-year-old reader."
The new series has not yet been officially announced and Higson plans to take a break from Bond to work on three other books again for Puffin.
Ian Fleming Publications have said: “We haven’t actually commissioned any further Young Bond novels. We’re currently concentrating on the centenary year, which obviously includes By Royal Command."

The Young Bond books are also to be issued as Graphic Novels starting with Silverfin illustrated by comic artist Kev Walker - due out in October.

* Young Bond fans will have the chance to meet Charlie Higson soon when he visits Manchester on Friday 6th June.
Charlie will be signing copies of Hurricane Gold at WHSmith, Manchester Arndale between 4.30 and 5.30pm to tie in with the paperback release.
