Strange art could conjure up some interesting story ideas

Modern art can be very inspiring
Have you seen the nominations for the 2008 Turner Prize yet? Who do you think should win the £25,000 and have you ever considered basing a story around a piece of art?

Tracy Chevalier for example has chosen to base two of her books around pieces of art, the Lady and the Unicorn tapestries and the Girl with a Pearl Earring painting.
It can be a great way to prompt ideas, of course it could just as easily be a photograph or a sculpture.
I currently have a picture hanging above my bed of a falcon that appears to be on flying on a magic carpet - I'd love to create a story around that surreal image one day.
Of the Turner Prize nominees I like the deep-sea diving suit best - there is something so strange about them and as you've probably guessed I'm planning on including one in my underwater Dr Midas adventure.
The artist, Polish-born, Goshka Macuga created her 'Objects in Relation' installation after being inspired by Salvador Dali's performance in one at the International Surrealist exhibition in London in 1936.

Any one of Dali's paintings or film pieces could be taken and made into a very interesting story - elephants with stilt-like legs, melted clocks, huge eyes, a faceless man holding a wheel. Hmmmmm.....
