Paper Cuts is an interesting writing competition for 13-18 year olds organised by Childline. The judges are looking for entries of 100 words or less and they can be in a variety of styles. Winners will have their work recorded by a celebrity for the Spinebreakers website and will be published in a Penguin book.
"What matters to you matters to ChildLine too. So we’d like you to write 100 words or less about just that. You can write about any topic in any style – stories, lyrics, poems, screenplays, a stream of consciousness or anything else. Just as long as it’s something you really care about.
All of your entries will be read by a panel of Paper Cuts judges, made up of ChildLine and Spinebreakers representatives, a Penguin publisher and one of their authors. Once they have shortlisted their 100 favourites, the Paper Cuts will be posted on the Spinebreakers site and put to a public vote.

There will be three winners who will have their story recorded by a celebrity and published in an anthology alongside 50 short-listed Paper Cuts competition entries. The three winners will also receive a year’s supply of Penguin books. Two books per month will be sent to each winner for the period of one year.
