Up All Night: Short story competition for American teenagers

Up All Night: 'Six sunsets, six stories.'

Harperteen.com are running a competition which is hopefully of interest to any younger American readers of Writer's Block.

To tie in with the release of 'Up All Night' a collection of six short stories by Peter Abrahams, Libba Bray, David Levithan, Patricia McCormack, Sarah Weeks and Gene Luen Yang.Harperteen.com are asking 14-19 year-olds in America to submit an original short story about a character that stays up all night.
The story must take place in the course of a single life-changing night. All stories must be between 5,000 and 10,000 words..
The grand prize winner will be selected to have their winning short story published alongside their favourite authors in the paperback edition of the short story collection, Up All Night. There will also be five first prize winners who will each receive a copy of the hardback cover of Up All Night signed by the contributing authors.

The entry form and more details are available at www.harperteen.com. Entrants must be aged between 14 and 19-years-old as of April 2, 2008.
Contest open to legal residents of the United States (excluding residents of Colorado, Rhode Island and United States territories and possessions.)
All entries must be postmarked no later than October 1 2008 and received by October 7 2008.
