Yo Ho Ho and a barrel of fun at the Sea Life Centre

I've been meaning to visit Blackpool's Sea Life Centre for a while now as I read that they have an area with a Blackbeard theme. Well I've finally got around to visiting and great fun it was too.

The Sea Life centre isn't very big but they pack a lot in. There's loads of tanks with fish, starfish, crabs, hermit crabs, sea horses etc and the different sections are themed. My favourite parts unsurprisingly were the Amazon area with atmospheric music and animal sounds and the Blackbeard section which includes a walk-through tunnel with sharks and rays. I managed to take a few pictures which I'm hoping to use on my website soon.

They are also about to open a new feature about octopuses called 'Suckers' I was hoping to see the 'hexapus' but he didn't seem to be in his tank yet. I did get to see a fantastic pacific octopus though which was just amazing. Great inspiration for my underwater Dr Midas book.
