Independent publishers Legend Press are looking for submissions to their 2009 short story competition - although with a wordcount of 9-12,000 they are on the longside of short!
If that isn't enough of a challenge in itself the action/thoughts of one main character and the majority of the story must take place in a single 'room' (but over any length of time.) Your entry must also be 'non-genre specific' e.g no crime, sci-fi, thrillers.) Make sure you also read the guidelines for more information on what a room can include.
I can feel a headache coming on but I'm sure there will be lots of writers who would love to have a go at this competition.
The judges are looking for : " talented, vibrant authors" which will feature in their fourth 'The Short Story Reinvented' collection due out next March. Legend Press are also happy to answer any queries you might have before the deadline which is October 31st and you can find details of past winners on the Legend website at www.legendpress.co.uk
