18 to 23-year-olds challenged to write for Skins TV series

18 to 23-year-olds are being asked to write a mini-episode for the third series of E4 TV show Skins. There is a fantastic paid prize too for would-be screenwriters.
The E4 website says: "We're giving one talented person the opportunity to lead writing a Skins mini episode featuring some of the Skins 3 cast, which will be screened online (and possibly on TV) in summer 2009. Don't worry if you're a little overwhelmed , we will be there to support you every step of the way. If you've got what it takes, we'll make sure you're given all of the support you need, like we do with all of our writers."

The winner will join the Skins writing team to thrash out ideas and to find out how episodes are put together for up to ten sessions. You will also be invited to the set (in Bristol) for a four day shoot to see the mini-episode being filmed. The winner will be paid for all meetings, visits, shoots, accomodation and travel.
To take part write a short comedy-drama no more than 1600 words WITHOUT any existing Skins characters in it. Instead you must include three new characters and up to five locations.
The Skins website says they are looking for : "a good sense of structure and comedy, appreciation of story, believable dialogue, complete characters and passionate storytelling. "
You must be available for various dates given on the competition page. Scripts should be emailed to E4 by 6pm on December 9th 2008. You can enter as many times as you like with different stories and characters.
