Festival wants short plays from Sefton teenagers
Here's a fantastic festival which is looking for new short plays by young people aged 13-18 and from across Sefton.
In 2009, Theatre in the Rough is producing 16 world premieres by 48 new writers across three shows at the Southport Arts Centre and at The Brindley
in Runcorn, this May.
Artistic and Literary Director, Chris Fittock said: "Our mission is to help cultivate the next generation of aspiring playwrights, and to prepare people with vital voices for the first steps in their career.
"Scripts should be no longer than 15 minutes in length and the plays should somehow be connected with some aspect of Sefton - but
remember to think imaginatively.
"Writers may also work in groups if they wish."
There are also lots of playwriting tips available on the festival website at www.theatreintherough.com along with other opportunities.
Plays should be emailed to info@theatreintherough.com by Thursday 9th April, 2009. You also need to complete an application form.
The Theatre in the Rough Festival is funded by Express Sefton and Awards for All.
Tickets are also available for the festival from the Southport Arts Centre box office.
