Scholastic have teamed up with one of their best-selling children's authors, MG Harris, (The Joshua Files: Invisible Cityand Ice Shock) for a children's World Book Day story competition.

M.G has written the beginning of 'Stars Fell on Campeche' featuring her boy hero Josh and key stage 2 school children are being invited to finish it.
The competition is running in Scholastic's magazine Junior Ed PLUS and the interactive story is available to download.
Set in Mexico, Josh is playing football, when it ends up in the jungle. He goes after it but falls and when he wakes up it is the dead of night...
The magazine says: "What happens next is for your class to decide. There's scope for imaginations to run wild! Will Josh encounter a UFO, someone coming over the mound with a flashlight or has he even woken up at all? Ideas are endless!"
Teachers are being invited to get classes to have a go and then they must pick the five best story endings to be entered against other schools.
Each ending must be no more than 200 words long.
The overall winner's ending will be illustrated by David Neale, the illustrator of the short story, and added to the interactive story. The winner will also receive a printed version of the interactive story signed by MG Harris, a signed copy of The Joshua Files: Invisible City and £150 worth of books for their school. Runners up will also win signed copies of The Joshua Files: Invisible City. The winning child must be willing to take part in publicity.
Please include the name of the child and school, and provide a contact telephone number and address with each entry. You can email endings to junioredplus@scholastic.co.uk or send them to 'World Book Day Competition' Junior Education PLUS Scholastic Ltd Villiers House Clarendon Ave Leamington Spa Warwickshire CV32 5PR. Only one entry per child, open to UK residents including Northern Ireland. The closing date is 3 April 2009.
